How ICAEW will use your data

ICAEW will store the personal information you provide to the CFAjobs Website and provide it to CFA (UK) on a regular basis or upon their request. Distribution of information between the two parties is via Sharefile, a secure file sharing and storage system.

If you have indicated your agreement, ICAEW will also use your information for the purposes of marketing relevant products and services to you.  You can opt out of this marketing at any time and change your other communication preferences, including whether you receive jobs alerts, by logging into the CFAjobs Website and selecting 'Your Account'.

How CFA will use your data

CFA (UK) will use the information gathered to:

  • Provide membership services or, in the case of non-members, to provide information about CFA UK’s products and services;
  • Administer examinations and comply with statutory obligations; and
  • Send you information occasionally about other companies' services where you have selected to receive such information. If you subsequently decide you do not wish to receive such information you may opt out at any time by managing your preferences as set out above.

CFA UK does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to any third party unless you have agreed to allow us to do so.

Updating your information

You may update, remove / delete your information in your CV or in your candidate profile at any time.  You are responsible for the accuracy of the information we hold about you.  If you ask us to remove you from our marketing lists, please be aware that we will need to keep certain information on you in a suppression list, to ensure we do not send you marketing materials in the future.

We take the security of your personal information seriously. As such, we take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or corruption. 

This includes ensuring that any person managing and handling personal information understands that they are responsible for following good data protection practice and are appropriately trained and supervised.  In addition, we clearly prescribe how personal information should be handled and a regular review and audit is made of these processes to ensure they remain adequate and appropriate.

However, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure, therefore although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information transmitted to the CFAjobs Website and any such transmission is at your own risk.

One of the other steps we take includes requiring that you create a password when you register as a Candidate for the CFAjobs Website.  Please note, if you lose or forget your password you should go to the ‘forgotten password’ area from the top horizontal menu, where you will be taken through a series of security questions in order for your password to be changed.  If you think or know that your password has been disclosed to another person without your consent then you should email for assistance.

Other Information

Like most websites, the ICAEW server gathers limited information about you during a session, including the IP address and domain name from which you are accessing the server. This information is used by ICAEW to help us improve the content, design and performance of the CFAjobs Website.

The log files or the information they contain will not be made available to any third parties.

Use of cookies
