Business Unit Overview:

The iShares EMEA Capital Markets team leverages the scale and trading expertise of BlackRock, in order to help clients navigate the ETP landscape more effectively. Within the Capital Markets team, the client team acts as a specialist sales team working directly with clients to help them understand and navigate the technical aspects of ETF trading and execution.

Job Purpose/Background:

The iShares EMEA Capital Markets team is looking for a driven team player with an excellent working knowledge of trading and operations in the European Fund or Equity Delta1 industry.  

The role is to support and develop the client facing Capital Markets team working in partnership with the broader Capital Markets team and Blackrock salesforce to enhance the liquidity and distribution of iShares ETFs to clients. The role will have an element of project work whilst also supporting the team in the day to day activities. The candidate will be involved in strategic client initiatives and there will be opportunities to develop client relationships directly with the ultimate aim of driving net new assets into the iShares range globally

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide general support to the client facing Capital Markets team including generation of reports and presentation material 

  • Help to streamline processes and work flows within the team to maximize efficiency

  • Leverage IT skills to automate relevant tasks

  • Work in partnership with other Blackrock teams to provide analysis and technical assistance to clients

  • Providing core client support by fielding and responding to day to day requests

  • Assist with assembling relevant product/flow/market information for the broader team to disseminate to clients on a daily basis

  • Work closely across teams in developing consultative relationships with the objective of cross-selling throughout the organisation.


  • Proven experience servicing institutional clients in a sales/trading/support capacity

  • Preferred Front Office experience (or has regular interaction with FO) at either sell side or buy side house.

  • Excellent understanding of the financial markets with knowledge/expertise in Delta1 and/or Fixed Income a plus.

  • Excellent product and market knowledge around at least one of the following: Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities and Derivative instruments.

  • In-depth knowledge of trading and operations a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills (proven through scientific, economic or mathematical focus)

  • The ability to communicate effectively in a fast paced environment and deal with multiple time sensitive tasks at a time.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • High energy, self-motivated individual, commitment to excellence.

  • Must possess the desire and ability to work in a team-orientated environment.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel/VBA skills a must.


  • Knowledge of an additional European language is an advantage

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Engineering is preferred

  • IMC/CFA or working towards

  • CF30 registered, or would be willing to work towards becoming registered
